The purpose of the
Congregational Care Committee is to provide care and nurture to the
congregation through visitation, communication, oversight of prayer
concerns and assistance to bereaved families. Care team members seek to
promote a climate of care and concern in contacting those members who, for
whatever reason, are unable to attend usual worship services.
Committee members visit members of the congregation on a regular basis who
are home bound, in the hospital, or in nursing homes. The committee
maintains a card and telephone ministry for special occasions including
new babies, marriage, birthdays, illness, hospitalization, and deaths.
They visit bereaved families to provide support and assist as needed in
service/reception preparations.
Congregational Care also
assists the pastor in providing home communion to members unable to attend
communion service as well as residents of John Knox Village as requested.
Additional activities
include an active prayer chain, oversight of the prayer board, and flower
ministry. A new offering from the committee is the Parish Nurse Program
that provides blood pressure checks and brief consultation for health
problems.
If you have a need for
assistance from the Care Team please email the church
office.
