Kari Hamada
is a graduate student pursuing her Master’s degree in Choral
Conducting
at the University of South Florida. She is
the graduate conducting apprentice for The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. She
has her Bachelor’s degree in Music Education also from the University of
South Florida where she studied with Richard Zielinski, Robert Summer, Lynne
Gackle and Warren Brad Diamond. Kari was a teacher in
Hillsborough County
during the 2007-2008 year. She taught general music, chorus, orff and guitar
and brought several of her students to the Fine Arts Festival in 2008.
Kari teaches voice and piano at Bigel Music located in
Wesley Chapel. Kari
worked alongside Averill Summer and Barbara Woellner with the Tampa Bay
Children’s Chorus by leading rehearsals, conducting in concerts and touring
with them to Canada. Kari’s artistic experiences have included singing with
the The Richard Zielinski Singers, the Tampa Opera, Con Amore which is a 12
voice women’s ensemble, and The Master Chorale of Tampa Bay. Kari has also
traveled to Choral Festival’s all over the world including
Choral Music Experience
(Scotland), In Terra Pax (Poland)
and The
Classical Music Festival in
Eisenstadt Austria over the past two summers.
