The Light of Christ has come into the world!
But not everyone recognizes this Light. Leaving an opening for the mission of the Church to shine the Light of Christ into the darkest corners of life.
Arise, shine; for your light has come, and the glory of the LORD has risen upon you.Isaiah 60:1 (NRSV)
Events from 2019, the year now completed, are appropriate for our review of places where we might shine the Light of Christ and to recognize how the Light of Christ did shine among us.
I will have more to say about Isaiah 60:1-6 at Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church at 8:15 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 5th.
Robert Shaw, Pastor
We will also ordain and install Elders who will lead this congregation at least through 2020.
A Tip for Parents
According to the Gospel of Matthew, magi (ancient astrologers) brought the new born King Jesus symbolic gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. What gifts might we bring to Jesus for this year?
This year our congregation will consider 12 gifts for Jesus, one for each month. How might your child participate in bringing these gifts: servant leadership, our community of faith, forgiveness, evangelism, worship, Bible reading, welcoming others, caring relationships, giving, and gratitude?
