Are you having a harder time staying focused? Disorientation caused by this pandemic and “Staying Safe at Home” can readily lead to being so wrapped up in our own thoughts we can miss the writing on the wall, even miss Jesus walking beside us.
“Not seeing the writing on wall” became more than a metaphor for me at one congregation. A creative member had requested permission to add passages of Scripture on the walls of our sanctuary with decorations. Several days elapsed after the Session gave their approval. One afternoon while busily preparing for worship, wrapped up in my thoughts about the sermon and other details, I looked around the room for a final inspection and I finally saw the words on the wall.
Late on day that Jesus arose from the grave two disciples were wrapped up in their thoughts.
As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.Luke 24:15-16
I will have more to say about Luke 24:13-35 here by 8 AM Sunday, April 26th including some ideas on how to stay open so we might also recognize Jesus with us on our daily journey.

A Tip for Parents
What toy do you remember from your childhood? Perhaps one that you loved so dearly that you wore it out. Or perhaps one that you set aside when you entered high school or college or …
Help your child understand the temporary nature of the enjoyment that we get from things as compared to the eternal love of Christ.
If you have a smart TV, you may worship with us there through our YouTube Channel by searching for Temple Terrace Presbyterian Church.
As disciples of Jesus Christ we give so that we may dedicate the whole of our lives by sharing a portion of what we earn with others.
Although COVID-19 has forced us to curtail all in person groups, meetings, classes, …, even office hours, we continue other ministries. For example: Wednesday Bible Study, Sunday school for children and the Fellowship Hour all meet via video-teleconference.
In these unusual times we deeply appreciate giving through your bank or by clicking the button. We continue to check our mailbox regularly so you may mail your check to us.
